Terms of Use

Last updated July 13, 2026

By using AllergyTable, you agree to these terms and to the waiver below. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms include an assumption of risk and a waiver and limitation of liability (below) that affect your legal rights. Please read them.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to accept these terms and create an account. If you are helping someone under that age, you accept these terms on their behalf and are responsible for their use. AllergyTable is intended for use in the United States.

In an emergency, don't use an app

AllergyTable is not for emergencies. If you are having an allergic reaction or a medical emergency, stop and call your local emergency number (911 in the US) or use your prescribed epinephrine right away. Nothing here is a substitute for professional medical care.

What AllergyTable is (and is not)

AllergyTable is a research assistant. It reads publicly available menus, allergen guides, and reviews and summarizes what it finds, with citations. It is not medical advice, it is not a guarantee of safety, and it is not a guarantee you won't get sick. Using it will not prevent an allergic reaction. We never label a dish "safe."

Menus change, kitchens vary, and cross-contamination is often undocumented. Treat every result as a starting point for a conversation with restaurant staff, not a substitute for it.

Use it at your own risk

You are responsible for your own food decisions. Always confirm directly with restaurant staff before eating, especially if you have a severe or life-threatening allergy. If you have a medical condition, consult a qualified professional. To the fullest extent permitted by law, AllergyTable is not liable for any allergic reaction, illness, injury, or loss arising from reliance on its results.

Assumption of risk & waiver of liability

Food allergies can cause serious illness or death. By using AllergyTable, you knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks associated with your food and dining decisions, including the risk of an allergic reaction, cross-contamination, illness, injury, or death, whether or not AllergyTable identified or missed a risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release, waive, and agree not to sue AllergyTable, its operators, and its data providers for any claim, loss, or damage arising from your use of the service or reliance on its results. You agree that any liability, if it cannot be fully waived, is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months (which for a free account is zero dollars).

Limits on this waiver. This waiver does not apply to liability for gross negligence, recklessness, willful misconduct, or fraud, and does not waive any right that the law of your state does not allow to be waived. Some states do not permit certain exclusions or limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you; in that case, our liability is limited to the greatest extent your state allows. This does not affect any non-waivable statutory rights you have as a consumer.

You accept this waiver during onboarding (version 2026-07-24). If we materially change it, we'll ask you to accept the new version before you continue.

Acceptable use

  • Use it for personal, good-faith dining research.
  • Do not scrape, overload, resell, or abuse the service or its API.
  • Do not attempt to break, probe, or misuse the accounts or infrastructure.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, availability, or that a given restaurant is covered.

Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless AllergyTable, its operators, and its data providers from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your reliance on its results, or your violation of these terms. This does not require you to cover losses caused by our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.

If part of this is unenforceable

If any provision of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable in your jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the greatest extent permitted, or limited or removed, and the rest of these terms stay in full effect. A limitation that cannot apply to a particular claim still applies to every other claim.

Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where the law of your home state requires otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits any non-waivable rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of your state.

Entire agreement

These terms, together with the onboarding waiver (version 2026-07-24) and our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and AllergyTable about the service, and replace any earlier understanding.

Changes

This is an early beta and the service will change. We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the update, and we'll ask you to re-accept the waiver if it materially changes. Questions: hello@allergytable.com.
