Data Choices

Last updated July 24, 2026

The short version of how we handle data, in one place. The full terms are in our Privacy Policy.

The one thing to know

There are two kinds of data here, and we keep them apart. Restaurant data (menus, dishes, allergen info) is about businesses, not about you. Your data (your allergy profile, your searches, your account) is about you. Our work on restaurant data never touches your personal data, and we never sell anything that identifies you.

What we collect about you, and why

  • Allergy profile — to produce your results. Lives on your device unless you make an account.
  • Searches — to cache answers, improve coverage, catch problems, and prevent abuse.
  • Account email — to sign you in and let your profile follow you.
  • Basic analytics — to see what is working.

We do not collect payment details during the beta, and we do not ask for medical records or diagnoses.

What we never do

  • Sell or share your allergy profile, email, or searches in a form that identifies you.
  • Use your allergy profile for advertising.
  • Mix your personal data into the restaurant data we may publish or license.

What we may share — de-identified only

We may share aggregate insights that cannot be traced to any individual, such as “dairy is the second most searched allergen in Brooklyn.” No names, no emails, no individual profiles. Under some laws this counts as “sharing,” so you can turn it off with no change to your experience.

Opt out

To opt out of de-identified aggregate sharing, email privacy@allergytable.com with the account email you use. We also honor Global Privacy Control browser signals automatically. (An in-account toggle is coming.)

Access and deletion

Ask us to show or delete your account and its data at any time: privacy@allergytable.com. Using the product without an account means there is nothing on our side to delete — your profile stays on your device.

AllergyTable is a research assistant, not medical advice. Menus change and kitchens vary. Always confirm directly with restaurant staff before eating.
